Vi-Line 2 is a slim floorstanding speaker with a line-array of four visaton fullrange drivers and with a woofer.

The loudspeaker employs a Visaton KT 100 V, 4 Ohms for bass range and four Visaton fullrange drivers BF32 for the line-array.

Vi-Line 2 has been developed by Bernd Timmermanns.

The speaker is built in bassreflex technology.

Its crossover consists of a 2nd order (12 dB per octave slope) high-pass for the line-arry. The woofer is connected to a 2nd order (12 dB per octave slope) low pass filter.

Between 30 Hz and 8 kHz, the frequency response of this loudspeaker is very linear on axis. The decay spectrum is without faults. At low volume, i.e. 80 dB at 1 m, the nonlinear distortions are below 0,5% above 500 Hz.

Note: To built this loudspeaker you need in addition: 18 pcs. of sink screws 4.5 x 40 mm for the front panel, 3 pcs. Of sink screws 5 x 70 for the base, 16 pcs. Of sink screws 3 x 16 for the fullrange drivers, 4 pcs. Screws M4 x 20 with nuts for the woofer

Hobby-Hifi used screws as cabinet feets, you can use any feets or spikes you like.

Kit with high-end crossover

The high-end kit comes with MKP capacitors for the fullrange driver. The high-end kit comprises an additional RLC series circuit. The inductance for the woofer is a baked varnished coil for minimizing microphonic effects. - The current flow through the coil creates a magnetic field which sets the reel of wire in motion. This motion induces a voltage in the coil which adds itself to the signal. The stiffer the reel of wire is, the less the signal will be altered.

Impedance correction

If you want to use a valve amplifier with this speaker an impedance correction should be employed. In this case the component quality is less important. Therefore, we offer only one kit. Upon request, higher quality components are available.
