Cunado is an high-end bassreflex bookshelf speaker with a very deep crossover frequency of 1400 Hz and 6 dB filters. The kit is delivered with the excellent woofer Wavecor WF120CU12 and the outstanding Wavecor TW030WA12 Tweeter.

The crossover consists of a 1rd order high-pass filter (6 dB per octave slope) for the tweeter and for the woofer a 1nd order low-pass filter. In parallel to the woofer a RCL curcuit smoothes a resonance at ca. 850 Hz.

Between 70 Hz and 20000 Hz, the frequency response of this loudspeaker is very linear on axis. A small sag at 3500 Hz is non critical and comes from the enclosure edges. The decay spectrum is nearly perfect. At low volume, i.e. 85 dB at 1 m, the nonlinear distortions are lower than 0.3% above 600 Hz and rises not over 1% at 95 dB at 1 m .

On technical information in Klang+Ton magazine is an error. The sensitivity of the Cuando speakers is 81 dB it is not 11 dB.

The high-end kit is delivered with an CFC coil instead of an air core coil for the woofer. The capacitor for the tweeter is a Clarity Cap MR.

Impedance correction

If you want to use a valve amplifier with this speaker an impedance correction should be employed. In this case the component quality is less important; therefore, we offer only one kit (upon request higher quality components are available).
